On the lunar New Year’s eve on February 22 special festive rituals were held in all of the buddhists datsans of Vladivostok. The believers burnt all of the bad memories of the passing year of the pig in a symbolic fire and welcomed the new year of the rat. 

On February 24, the lamas start the traditional service during which a luck-calling ritual is being done. 

During this season, people visit their relatives and pay respect to their dead relatives.
