«History of Primorye»: lovely but obstinate Khanka lake

Khanka is the biggest lake of the Far East. Federal border between Russia and China is located on its waters. The lake’s area is more than 3000 square km. According to 2010’s data Khanka’s shore line is 310 km. 

One of Primhydromet’s metro stations is located on the lake. Its staff does not only monitor the weather but also looks after the lake and its condition. Every year the environmental situation gets better and better on Khanka.
